Surrounding the Mumbai Airport Area about254 ac.land is encroached by slums. Non availability of land for rehabilitation in the vicinity makes it difficult to provide for good infrastructure outside the airport. This not only poses a serious challenge in terms of operation, security and aesthetics but also causes financial losses.

PROPOSED
It is proposed that the larger plot of land on which slum pocket is located, and developing this as an independent township, slum dwellers are provided with affordable housing and secure tenure, and the adequate infrastructure for HIKES. With a successful phase wise analysed and proposed design, we expect to achieve alleviate poverty, improve the security system in and around airport and aid in efficient airport operations.
